Triple H: A Leader Inside and Outside the Ring
Triple H is not only one of the most important Superstars in WWE history, but also one of the main leaders outside the ring, as he has allowed several Superstars from different places to have a place in WWE and headline the main events.
Many see a paternal figure in Triple H, and for that reason, Hunter had no problem talking about it with USA Today and their section "For the Win," where the 14-time world champion spoke about his recent appearances in WWE live shows and what he enjoys the most about NXT.
"I love this situation, because on a Saturday morning I can be at my daughters' school event and two hours later I am on an airplane flying to Santiago de Chile, and then in the locker room getting ready to go out and wrestle."
"And I say to myself, 'What the hell!'..."
"Then I go to Europe, and the truth is that it is an amazing experience, because in recent years, the times I got in the ring were a little before WrestleMania or even the main event, which put a lot of pressure on my shoulders. But now I enjoy this stage, because everything is more relaxed."
"The truth is that it is very rewarding to change the atmosphere, although I assure you that it is very difficult, physically speaking, because even though I train 12 hours a day in the gym, it's not the same as wrestling in the ring. It's great to be in the same ring with these guys, whom in many cases I have helped reach the level they are at, and that makes me feel good, because it reminds me what the world of wrestling is about."
"One night I'm working with Rusev; the next I'm dancing with The New Day; the one after I'm just another member of The Shield, and that's nice, because I hear the fans who love to see me and they take it as a special moment, but they don't know how incredibly special it is for me."
Who Will Triple H Face in Royal Rumble and WrestleMania?
About Making Adjustments in NXT When Superstars Move Up to the Main Roster:
"It's natural evolution, and there are two ways you can approach it, either you say 'How sad, I created this talent and now they're gone,' or 'Good for him, we made it happen.'"
"I think it's part of the magic and the secret of NXT. Constant changes, evolution, and always new things happening... Do adjustments require time and changes? Without a doubt. Do there have to be major restructurings? Of course. Can a fan watch a great event and six weeks later not know anyone on the roster? That also happens... But that's the good thing about it and all its charm, in addition to the challenge of combining experienced wrestlers with new talent. It's a great mix that NXT has, and a lot of what makes NXT wonderful is maintaining that balance."
About Shawn Michaels and his Incorporation and Help with NXT Talent:
"To be honest, Shawn didn't take the project very seriously at first. He just said, 'Yeah, we'll see, maybe I'll stop by one of these days.' But now he's fully committed. For him, going to the Performance Center is like drinking from the fountain of youth. He has the guys very inspired, especially those who have been in the business for a long time, because he sees 100 raw diamonds giving their all in the ring and in the gym."
"Shawn felt the energy, and he told me, 'I love this, I want to be more involved.' Then he was the one telling me, 'Hey, I think I should have a presence at this weekend's event.' And in the end, 'I think I'm going to join the tour you're going on.'"
