Conor McGregor, Chael Sonnen, or Michael Bisping are some good examples of fighters who know how to handle the microphone to promote themselves, gain popularity, or generate interest in a fight.
Georges St. Pierre, and certainly most athletes, is an example of the opposite. The Canadian fighter, who will compete for the middleweight title next October, talks about this issue these days.
"I don't talk trash. I am who I am. The new thing is to be like Conor McGregor. But he does it because it comes naturally to him and he's very good at it. But everyone thinks that's how they're going to make money. I am who I am, and I know I'm not good at talking trash. That's why I prefer not to do it. Besides, English is not my first language."
As for his next fight, these days Chael Sonnen gave his opinion referring to the champion's larger size, but being clear that it will not be an advantage because GSP is noticeably stronger than him.
"I like the fight. Much of what is being talked about is Bisping's size. We really don't care who weighs more, but who is stronger. Bisping will probably come into the fight at 200 pounds, while Georges will be at 183. This could be surprising because Georges is noticeably stronger than Bisping.
