Baron Corbin climbed up the ladder, grabbed the briefcase and became Mr. Money in the Bank 2017 at the PPV of the same name in which AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura, Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn also participated.
The Lone Wolf spoke with ESPN right after winning last night. Here are some of the highlights:
"It's an incredible moment, I'm here to leave my mark in WWE history. This journey started from day one, when I entered and won the Battle Royal in memory of Andre the Giant, and now tonight, I am Mr. Money in the Bank, after grabbing that briefcase."
"Right now, I don't feel much, tomorrow I'll probably feel beaten and sore, and I'll find some bruises I didn't know I had, but at this moment, with this excitement, my body is numb to any kind of pain I'll feel all day tomorrow."
What it means to hold the briefcase:
"History shows that anyone who has their hands on the briefcase becomes WWE champion, and that's why I have no doubts in my mind that's what's next for me. This is the next step in my career and this briefcase is going to help me achieve it. No one will take it away from me."
"I'm going to be calculating, I'm pretty good at what I do. I know how to make my mark on someone, something that Shinsuke felt firsthand, to his bad luck. I saw an opportunity and I took it. Now, I'm going to take advantage of it to walk, from now on, always with success in front of me."
In addition to that, on Talking Smack, Corbin appeared during Jinder Mahal's interview, causing him to leave the set. But after that, Corbin revealed when he would like to cash in the briefcase:
"I don't know when I'm going to use it, but this Tuesday sounds pretty good."
