A new brand in the world of collecting. The Pokémon card "Pikachu Illustrator", one of the rarest in the entire series launched in 1998, was sold for nearly $200,000.
The high price of this Pokémon card is due to its limited number of units available in the market and its excellent condition. Obtaining a Mint 9 rating is almost perfection.
The Pokémon collectible item was put up for sale on the Invaluable website, and can be found as "Lot 182". It was auctioned off on October 23rd with a starting price of $195,000.
The story of the "Pikachu Illustrator" card began in 1998. According to official records, 39 units were printed, but the number currently available in the collector's market is unknown. The card was a gift for the winners of a drawing contest organized by CoroCoro Comic, a manga magazine in Japan.
