The strategist of the Peruvian National Team, Juan Reynoso, spoke today, Monday, October 16, in a press conference, ahead of the match that the "Blanquirroja" will face tomorrow, Tuesday, against Argentina, in Lima, for matchday 4 of the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
In response to whether he will apply any strategy to counteract the Argentine attack, Reynoso pointed out that they will take all precautions and that there will surely be variations in the starting eleven shown against Chile.
"Surely there will be changes... Argentina is the champion. Not only do they have a good team, but also individualities, we are taking the necessary precautions to neutralize and, according to their characteristics, try to surprise them," he explained to the journalists.
CRITICISM FOR POOR RESULTS
At another moment, he referred to the criticisms against him for the recent results that the national team has been having, indicating that it is part of the current situation that they have to face.
"Criticism is the cost of this beautiful position... We have already experienced this, I have had to experience the qualifiers. I prefer that they criticize me, rather than criticize the boys. If there is a cost to pay, I pay it gladly," he said.
Regarding his style of play, he said: "What I would like to convey is that we will not lose our DNA, we like to play. What we are looking for is to build a team that applies high pressure... It's not that we are defensive. We adapt according to the opponents,".
