Did FPF and Bernardo Cuesta have any contact?
Recently, Bernardo Cuesta has been in the news due to the lack of offensive options in the Peruvian national team, which is why Ricardo Bettochi, the administrator of FBC Melgar, said that the forward is still unable to play for the national team at the moment.
YOU CAN SEE: Bernardo Cuesta broke his silence and revealed if he wants to play for the Peruvian national team.
However, the director of the Arequipa team mentioned that this does not mean that the Peruvian Football Federation cannot ask FIFA to find out what needs to happen for him to be an attacking option for coach Juan Reynoso.
"The changes that have come out today still do not allow Bernardo Cuesta to play for the Peruvian national team, but that does not prevent the FPF from consulting FIFA, and in other situations, we know that FIFA takes a step forward for specific cases. If it were up to me, I would make a formal consultation, but it is not up to me," he said.
"It was known that FIFA was going to make some changes to that regulation to try to make it easier for naturalized players to play for other countries," he added.

After that, Ricardo Bettochi stated that he has no knowledge that the FPF has contacted Bernardo Cuesta to see if he could be considered for the Peruvian national team as soon as he meets the requirements.
"Has there been any approach between the FPF and Bernardo Cuesta? Honestly, I don't know. We have a very good relationship with the national team area of the Federation, but specifically today, they haven't told us anything," he concluded.
