Alexander Robertson, a midfielder currently defending the colors of Manchester City in the Premier League, was called up by Graham Arnold to play international friendlies against the Ecuadorian national team on March 24 and 28.
"Proud moment to be selected for the @Socceroos! A country that has a special place in my heart, can't wait," he said on his social media.
As you know, the young footballer had an approach with the Peruvian national team to join the U-20 squad. However, he decided to cut communication.
"I wouldn't call any other place home apart from Australia. I grew up there as a child, I know everything about where I'm from, and obviously, my grandfather and father played for Australia, so for me, if I were to do that, it would be a moment of great pride for my family and myself," he said a few months ago with the conviction to represent Australia.
