Gol Peru responds to the FPF: "They are focused on taking over the television rights" [VIDEO]

Viernes 24 de Febrero del 2023

The conflict between the Consortium and the FPF over the broadcasting rights of Liga 1 seems to never end.

In the last hours, Gol Peru posted a video on its social media platforms, in which it tries to dismantle the arguments of the Peruvian Football Federation regarding television rights.

“The Peruvian Football Federation is very busy seizing the broadcasting rights of Liga 1, instead of fulfilling its true responsibilities,” begins the narrator.

Next, he begins to enumerate the shortcomings that the Peruvian soccer entity has had in recent years under the leadership of Agustin Lozano.

“We were the last country in the region to restart its championship after the pandemic; it did not qualify for Qatar due to its mismanagement in the qualification trip; it failed in the mission to renew the contract of coach Ricardo Gareca; the last results of the youth teams are lamentable,” he adds.

“The reserve championship has not been implemented; our Liga 1 always ends with complaints in the TAS; new infrastructure has not been developed,” he continues.

Finally, he argues that the federation should fulfill its functions instead of "trying to control the clubs".

“It is time for the federation to promote the development of Peruvian soccer, instead of trying to control clubs through television rights,” concludes the video.
