Gianluca Lapadula has been on a streak. This Saturday, the Peruvian national team striker scored another goal with the Cagliari shirt. In this way, the 'Bambino de los Andes' has scored in three consecutive matches in Serie B. However, the result has not been the expected one for his team in their quest for promotion to the top division of Italy.

The appearance of 'Lapagol' was crucial for his team, as they were losing 0-1 against Pisa due to Olimpiu Morutan's goal (51'). With that partial result, the Sardinians were moving away from the playoff zone for a chance to return to Serie A. So, the '9' waited in the area to bring joy to the home fans at the Unipol Domus stadium.
After an hour of play, Cagliari attacked down the wing with substitute Zito Luvumbo. The Angolan-born player faced the visiting defense and with his skill, managed to overcome the tough challenge ahead and positioned himself to deliver a cross into the box.
That's when the African player sent a cross into Pisa's territory. Gianluca Lapadula was positioned in that area of the field. When the ball arrived near the penalty spot, the Peruvian striker rose to connect with a header. Gianluca's powerful shot beat goalkeeper Alessandro Livieri, who had no chance.
In this way, 'Il Peruviano' filled the Cagliari fans with excitement and hope. The team hasn't won a game since October 15, when they defeated Brescia 2-1 in the same stadium.
The truth is that, despite Lapadula's great goal, the score didn't change. Thus, the club has gone four consecutive games without a win: one defeat and three draws. Precisely, the national team scorer scored a goal in each of the draws his team obtained.
On a personal note, the former Benevento player has scored a total of four goals in the 2022-2023 Serie B season. Meanwhile, Cagliari is in 10th place in the table with 17 points, two points away from the 8th place and further behind the 30 points of the league leader, Frosinone.
