In the Peruvian National Team, there have been countless footballers, but few are those who have left the sport to continue achieving goals and accomplishing important things academically. Precisely, 7 years ago the delegation had a name that caught the attention of the fans, as he played in the local tournament and in a club from the province.
The person we are referring to, as the seasons went by, became one of the most outstanding players in the Liga 1 and, for that reason, caught the attention of Ricardo Gareca. The 'Tigre' decided to take him to the 2015 Copa America and he managed to win the bronze medal with the Blanquirroja after a magnificent campaign.
This is Edwin Retamoso Palomino, at that time a player for Real Garciaso. The skillful midfielder, with leadership and tough marking as his strengths on the field, just graduated as a Systems and Computer Engineer at the Technological University of the Andes located in Abancay, precisely the department where he was born.
"Thanks to God. Thanks to my parents, I am who I am today. I know I don't remind them enough, but I will always be grateful and love them for the rest of my life. I dedicate this step and everything I achieve to you, Asunta Palomino, Mario Retamoso. Thank you to my family: my wife Sophi VP, my children, my siblings Nilton, Endira, Melissa Retamoso, and my friends who have always been there to support me with words of encouragement Bryan, Julia, Eduardo, Edison, Elvis, Yuly, and Marleny. We took an important step in our academic training and our commitment will be to continue growing," he posted very excitedly on his social media.
