The request for four years of prison for Agustín Lozano Saavedra was rejected
On June 21, the Lambayeque Single Criminal Transitory Court rejected the request for four years of prison for Agustín Lozano Saavedra for the alleged crime of incompatible negotiation while serving as mayor of the Chongoyape district.
However, the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Crimes of Corruption of Officials of Lambayeque filed an appeal to the Judiciary against that judgment in favor of the President of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF).

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office is taking the same approach, seeking to annul said judgment and to hold a new oral trial against the former mayor of Chongoyape.
According to judicial sources of La República, the Judiciary will choose to review both requests in the same session, since the documents have the same purpose against Lozano Saavedra.
What is Agustín Lozano accused of?
Lozano was accused by the assistant prosecutor Cinthia Pérez Sandoval of signing an irregular inter-institutional agreement with Club Juan Aurich when he was mayor of Chongoyape, demanding a four-year prison sentence.
The magistrate mentions that the current head of the FPF rented the Municipal Stadium of Chongoyape, despite not having the approval of the city council.
On the other hand, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, led by Jorge Carnero, requested a civil reparation of 20,000 soles.
