He also sent a message of encouragement to the players and urged them to find strength by being with their families.

The popular 'Checho' Ibarra was visibly upset during the broadcast from Qatar. The former football player expressed his opinion after the elimination and made this request to 'Flaco' Gareca, hoping that he will stay and continue leading Peru in the next qualifying process: "I hope Gareca doesn't leave."
Furthermore, he believes that the best thing the players can do is to be with their families and avoid social media as he considers it harmful: "We are football people and we know that we are exposed to this, we need to surround ourselves with family, the same goes for the players, they shouldn't look at social media where everyone becomes a coach, they are the best with a cell phone."
On the other hand, Sergio Ibarra commented on Luis Advíncula's penalty kick and sent words of encouragement to 'Rayo', who decided to retire from the Peruvian National Team due to the missed shot at such a crucial moment in the history of Peruvian football: "I wouldn't want to be in 'Lucho' Advíncula's shoes today, he's a player who has given a lot to the national team, unfortunately, he missed, but he tried," he said.
