The Colombian coach Jorge Luis Pinto referred to the match tonight between the Peruvian National Team and Colombia. Analyzing the match, the strategist revealed that nowadays Peru is a stronger team than the Colombian side.
"Today Peru is a stronger team because it comes from a continuous process, it has rotated players, whereas in Colombia there is a team that is being built, that is getting to know each other, that is trying out playing schemes," said Pinto in Fútbol Como Cancha from RPP Noticias.
The former Millonarios coach affirmed that the Peruvian National Team has become a respected team in South America, and explained why. "What Peru did in the World Cup and the Copa America shows that they are a more compact and continuous team. They know how to function, unlike Colombia that has not yet found the ideal team," he added.
Jorge Luis Pinto was in charge of the Colombian National Team during the 2007-2008 seasons. In his tenure, he participated in the 2007 Copa America where things did not go well as they lost to Argentina and Paraguay in the group stage, resulting in the elimination of the Colombians.
