Peruvian National Team: what the 'bicolor' needs to qualify for the next stage of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games [VIDEO]

Jueves 01 de Agosto del 2019

The Peruvian National Team still has a chance to advance to the next round of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.

Peru and Honduras

Peru and Honduras faced each other on Thursday for the second round of the group stage in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. The match ended in a 2-2 draw and the chances of qualifying for the next stage of the tournament are complicated for the team led by Nolberto Solano, considering that the 'bicolor' only has one point and is at the bottom of the table in their group.

La Blanquirroja needs two results on the third matchday on Sunday, August 4th: a victory over Jamaica and a win for the Uruguayan team against the 'catrachos'. Both matches are scheduled in the closing of Group B.

The 'Celeste', with six points, has secured a place in the semifinals of Lima 2019. The Uruguayan team, to give a helping hand to the Peruvian team, must beat Honduras (4 points and +2 goal difference) with a result of three or more goals difference.

If that happens in the match scheduled for 5:30 p.m. (Peru time), the team led by 'Ñol' Solano is obliged to beat Jamaica by a margin of three or more goals.

However, the Peruvian team could be eliminated before facing Jamaica at 8:30 p.m. If Honduras, at the very least, draws against Uruguay, they will have five points in the table and will be unreachable for the Blanquirroja.
