About the Peruvian National Team
With only one match left for the participation of the Peruvian national team in the 2018 World Cup, the Peruvian team is still looking for someone to follow in the footsteps of Guillermo La Rosa as the last Peruvian football player to score a goal in a World Cup. However, there is still the last match of Peru in Group C against Australia, and we hope that the bicolor says goodbye with a victory against the kangaroos so we don't end up being one of the teams that did not score goals in this World Cup.

It is remembered that the last Peruvian football player to score a goal in a World Cup was Guillermo La Rosa Laguna, popularly known as 'El Tanque', who scored a goal against Poland in the 1982 World Cup in Spain. It was on June 22, 1982, at the Riazor Stadium in La Coruña, where the Poles defeated us 5-1. Wlodzimierz Smolarek (55'), Gzregorz Lato (58'), Zbigniew Boniek (61'), Andrzes Buncol (68'), and Wlodzimierz Cioek (76') had already scored for the Europeans, while 'El Tanque' La Rosa scored a goal as a result of a good combination with Gerónimo 'Patrulla' Barbadillo, which ended with a strong shot from 'El Tanque' that beat Polish goalkeeper Jozef Mlynarczk, when the clock marked the 83rd minute and the match was already decided.
In that World Cup, the Peruvian national team was in Group 1 with Cameroon (drew 0-0), Italy (drew 1-1), and finally was defeated 5-1 by Poland. We finished last in the group with only two points, while Poland qualified first with four points, and Italy also advanced.
