An important support. The International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) has sent a letter to FIFA requesting the enablement of Paolo Guerrero to play in the Russia 2018 World Cup.
The international players' organization published on its Twitter account the request it made to the highest governing body of football for the Peruvian striker to have the opportunity to participate in the World Cup.
"FIFPro has written to FIFA requesting that the captain of Peru, Paolo Guerrero, be allowed to participate in the World Cup. We are hoping for a response in the next 24 to 48 hours," FIFPro said on Twitter.
Days earlier, the organization had issued a statement indicating that the sanction against 'El Depredador' was 'unfair and disproportionate'; and also requested a meeting with FIFA to discuss the case of the Peruvian forward.
It is worth noting that Paolo Guerrero will travel, accompanied by Edwin Oviedo, to Switzerland to meet next Tuesday with Gianni Infantino.
UPDATE: @FIFPro has written to @FIFAcom requesting that Peru captain Paolo Guerrero be allowed to participate in the @FIFAWorldCup. We are hoping for a breakthrough in the next 24-48 hours. 🤞🏻
