Toluca team returns to their hometown
On Friday afternoon, the Toluca team traveled back to their hometown to start the preparations for the second leg of the Grand Final against Santos Laguna, which will take place on Sunday at the Nemesio Diez stadium.
The squad led by Hernán Cristante spent the night in the Comarca Lagunera after playing the match that Santos Laguna won 2-1. They had a lot to think about throughout the night and morning before boarding the flight to the city of Toluca.
The players, now calmer after the intense match against the laguneros, were received by their fans in the capital of the State of Mexico. There, they expressed their confidence in making a comeback and winning the championship.
Although there were regrets for having had the advantage and controlling the match, only to be surpassed in the end.
However, they assure that now they will try to do the same on their home field, where they trust their experience and the support of their fans. They previously defeated Xolos de Tijuana with a great performance in the semi-finals.
Coach Hernán Cristante said that they have to play very well on Sunday, as they expect a tough game. They must be cautious against Santos' dangerous offensive players such as Brian Lozano, Djaniny Tavares, and Jonathan Rodríguez.
