The Usos and The New Day reignited their rivalry on SmackDown Live, leading to a title match at Fastlane between the two long-standing enemies. However, the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that things could get very interesting for the tag team championship at the event.
The Usos and The New Day had an epic rivalry that culminated in a title match at Hell in a Cell, in a confrontation that will go down as one of the best of the modern era.
Since then, the Usos have taken on and defeated all comers, and recently concluded their rivalry with Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin by emphatically defeating them on multiple occasions.
However, as reported by Dave Meltzer, the Usos' days as champions could be truly numbered with The New Day vying for the titles again, and a possibly new dominant team added to the title picture as well.
Meltzer indicated that The Bludgeon Brothers, the team of Harper and Rowan, have been dominant since their debut and giving them a title shot could be a good way to move forward.
Fastlane has quickly become a PPV of changes, not only did the main event change from a Triple Threat to a six-man match and there are rumors that the current United States championship with Bobby Roode and Randy Orton has added Jinder Mahal.
It only remains (as always), to be made official on screen, but it is almost a certainty that the duo could be added to the tag team championship match on SmackDown.
