Can the New Zealand National Team beat Peru?
What will the 'All Whites' fight against? Both teams will face each other this Friday and those were the questions that former players of the 'Kiwis', Danny Hay and Noah Hickey, answered.
They, along with journalist Chris Chang from 1News of New Zealand, found the reasons why New Zealand could come out victorious in the first playoff match for qualification to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Three reasons why the "All Whites" can win:
1. Chris Wood. "The Chris Wood-Winston Reid factor. These two players are fundamental for the 'All Whites' to obtain a good result in Wellington. Wood's performance against the Solomon Islands in his last international outing (including a hat-trick and a sumptuous chip) and his three goals for Burnley showed that he is a real goal threat."
2. Without Paolo Guerrero. "A failed drug test means that Peru's leading scorer is out of the match. That is a big psychological blow, and Ricardo Gareca will have to create a winning formula again. An away goal in Wellington could end New Zealand's campaign even before it begins. An absent Guerrero makes the job a little more difficult for Peru."
3. Wellington. "If the 'All Whites' can make the advantage of playing at home count, it won't just be the visitors facing a hostile crowd in the return leg in Lima. Wellington cannot be beaten on a good day, and it could be difficult to defeat the 'All Whites' on a terrible night. Pray for wind and rain."
Peru vs. New Zealand: The Kiwis have checked 5 Peruvian players
Three reasons why the "All Whites" will fight:
1. Quality. "Competitive preparation is always a struggle for the All Whites. Will the Confederations Cup and a few preparation matches be enough? Peru was the supposed preferred South American opponent, but there is a reason why they are 112 spots ahead of the All Whites in the FIFA ranking."
2. Combinations. "New Zealand is a strong team. But whether the combinations will click is another matter. Winston Reid and Tommy Smith are not a regular duo, and the 'All Whites' desperately need to keep a clean sheet in this game. Individual brilliance can decide the match, but the men of Anthony Hudson must be solid as a rock."
3. 1982. "It was the date that New Zealand Football desperately needed to surpass, and qualifying for the 2010 World Cup was a huge relief and success. Peru is on their own crusade to return to a World Cup, and there will be massive pressure on them in both legs. Will 1982 be the magic number for the South Americans this time?"
