Breaking News: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Sent Back to the US During UK Tour

By Justin Barrasso - Sports Illustrated

The unexpected twists keep happening as the hours go by regarding Survivor Series. Not content with a change of WWE Champion just two weeks before, with a thrilled Manchester for that, it was announced today that the fifth and final member of Team SmackDown is John Cena, disregarding the poster with the rapper dressed as a referee. But the blue brand, intentionally or unintentionally, wants to continue surprising us, and in the last hours, the news broke that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were sent back to the US during the current UK tour.

Sami and Owens leave the British tour - In trouble with WWE?

The reason behind it became the most searched, but it could only be speculated with a possible disciplinary measure caused by some incident. Now Sports Illustrated offers an update, by Justin Barrasso:

"In a decision approved by Vince McMahon, both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were removed from the rest of the UK tour and sent home after the SmackDown show in Manchester for behavior deemed detrimental to WWE."

"Multiple sources, both internal and external, confirmed to Sports Illustrated that Owens and Zayn's offense was 'going on their own' regarding their on-camera work during yesterday's SmackDown."

"Sports Illustrated has asked WWE for more details."

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in the edition of SD Live on 10/24/2017 - WWE

Reviewing the initial segment of SD Live referred to in the information, no out-of-place behavior is observed, although we do not know what the original script would have been. Perhaps, as my colleague Sebastian Salgado suggested, it's all based on a formal complaint from the Canadians due to their lack of specific plans for Survivor Series. Let's remember that except for Jinder Mahal now, Owens and Zayn are the only relevant wrestlers on SD Live (especially in the case of the former) who do not have a scheduled match for the historic PPV.

Speaking of Owens, it would be a major setback in his career, now that it seemed he finally had the confidence of the executive leadership, after making the Chairman himself bleed and winning a Hell in a Cell against his eldest son. We shall see the extent of the repercussions, and expect new updates, this is far from over. Stay tuned to SÚPER LUCHAS.
