Karolina Kowalkiewicz was one of the winners last night at UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Till.

The former title contender defeated Jodie Esquibel to continue as one of the main names in the strawweight division.

Before the event, she was already very motivated to achieve victory.

"We have made some changes in my training. Now I am really prepared for the fight and I will demonstrate it tomorrow. My opponent is a newcomer to UFC, like we all were someday. She is a very complete fighter. I am having fun. I never feel pressure before fights. I feel pressured when I am hungry and can't eat a cookie because I need to lose weight. It is a great experience to fight in UFC in my home. It is awesome."

After her victory, she challenged another former title contender.

"Now I need a vacation and then I want to fight Jessica Andrade. She said I declined to fight her, and that is not true. I was never offered that fight. So we can do it now, if you are willing."

Meanwhile, Jessica Andrade defeated Claudia Gadelha, also a former contender, in her recent presentation and precisely challenged her teammate.

"The greatest thing is that I believe that with this victory, I showed the world that it is not necessary to leave your home country to succeed. I am Brazilian, I train in Brazil, I represent Brazil, and I am going to be champion in Brazil. I want to be like Minotauro Nogueira. I will never forget my roots, and that is where I am going to be. I would like for this victory to make me the number one contender. I wanted to fight Karolina Kowalkiewicz in Poland, but she preferred to fight a debutant. If she wins, I would like to fight."
