Star Receiver Antonio Brown Apologizes for Video

Pittsburgh Steelers' star receiver Antonio Brown apologized last night for publicly releasing a video in which controversial statements made by the team's head coach, Mike Tomlin, can be heard.

Brown stated through his Twitter account that he acted wrongly by letting his "emotions and genuine excitement get the best of him, and because he wanted to share that moment with our followers".

He admitted that he acknowledges his actions were against the team's policies and the National Football League (NFL), so he apologized to Tomlin and his teammates.

He stated that the incident became a distraction at an important time for the team, which is preparing to face the New England Patriots on Sunday for the American Football Conference (AFC) title.

After the Steelers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 18-16 in the divisional round last Sunday, Brown posted the video on one of his social media platforms.

The recording takes place in the team's locker rooms and Tomlin can be heard asking the players to keep a low profile. He also complains that the Patriots reached the AFC final a day and a half before them, receiving "help" without mentioning who or when.

What is clear is that Tomlin uses inappropriate language throughout the video, clearly referring to the Patriots and their veteran coach Bill Belichick, who has avoided the controversy since last weekend.

"Everybody knows I'm not a fan of social media, and therefore I'm only concerned about having the team fully prepared when Sunday's game comes," Tomlin said.

However, the video had over 900,000 views just a few hours after it was released and was taken down from Brown's page on Monday morning.

Tomlin described the comments as "regrettable" and said he would punish Brown for sharing the video without permission, although the Pittsburgh team players have supported him, as they believe a head coach should show character within the locker room.
