The frustration of Cruz Azul continues

After the defeat against Chivas, once again Cruz Azul is being left out of the Liguilla. The cementeros stepped onto the Chivas Stadium field with the obligation to take three points to stay alive in the tournament, but in the end, they fell in the last minutes, just like it happened a week ago against Puebla.

Cruz Azul regrets the team's poor performance, and Christian Giménez, one of the current references of the cementeros, spoke at the end of the match and described the tournament as a failure. The Argentine recognized the bad tournament his team has had and commented that there are no excuses and that everyone is responsible for the crisis.

"Everything we did throughout the tournament was a failure, but one thing is for sure: we never stopped working, we never stopped representing this shirt trying to do things right. Sometimes it's very difficult when things are very negative, and we step forward, but we are not going to hide our share of guilt. Throughout the tournament, we are the ones most responsible for Cruz Azul's campaign, and there are no excuses, nothing. We have to keep going (...) we are sorry for the whole situation and for what we are experiencing," he emphasized.

Although Cruz Azul has been eliminated from the tournament, El Chaco believes that there are no reasons to give up and that many things need to be reconsidered for this team to return to the forefront of Mexican soccer.

"We have to do a lot of things, we should not jump off the ship, and we should aim for the next tournament, have an extraordinary tournament (...) but well, the ones who will lead the club forward are those who love the club," said the Argentine player.

Cruz Azul will try to close their tournament with dignity in the two remaining games, against Pachuca and finally against León.

Trivia: This will be the fifth consecutive tournament in which Cruz Azul does not qualify for the Liguilla.
