The Pericos de Puebla take another Series of the King to Puebla in search of the title of the Mexican Baseball League, a situation that has been denied to them in 2010 and 2014.

The players who have participated in those two Final Series and remain on the team are: Alberto Carreón, Valentín Gámez, Luis Mauricio Suárez, César Tapia, and Mauricio Lara. We could also include Andrés Meza; however, he did not participate this year, but he belongs to the Organization.

In 2010, they lost the Series of the King to the Saraperos de Saltillo in five games; the first two games were played in Puebla, and the northerners won them by scores of 6-5 and 4-3, with pitching by Cecilio Garibaldi and Thomas Melgarejo. With the series in Saltillo, the Pericos showed signs of life and defeated the Saraperos 8-5 with pitching from Andrés Meza; however, games four and five were won by the Coahuilenses with scores of 5-0 and 21-2.

From the current roster of the green team, a total of five players, along with those mentioned above, played in the 2014 Series of the King: Iván Jiménez, Mario Santana, Willy Taveras, Héctor Galván, and Jaime Lugo.

The 2014 Series of the King was won by the Diablos Rojos del México, who defeated the Pericos in four games, with scores of 5-3, 6-5, 8-4, and 9-8. The victories were for Arturo López, Yahir Lozoya, and Manny Acosta on two occasions.

A total of 11 players have fallen with the green uniform in Series of the King, and this year they seek revenge.

The Pericos' record in the playoffs since 2000 is 51-49, and in the Series of the King it is 1-8. In this postseason, the Pericos remain undefeated on the road with a record of 5-0.

The last team to be crowned with the name Pericos de Puebla was in 1963. Puebla had three other teams that were crowned in the LMB, the Ángeles in 1979, the Ángeles Negros in 1986, and the Tigres de la Angelópolis in 2005.

The Puebla team lost the first game of the series 1-0, but for the second game, their offense woke up and beat the fronterizos 6-3, ensuring that the Series of the King will have at least three games in Puebla, the first of which will be this Saturday. On the mound are Álex Sanabia for the fronterizos and Mauricio Lara for the Puebla team.

The last time a Series of the King match was played at the Hermanos Serdán Stadium was on September 7, when the Pericos lost 6-5 to the Diablos Rojos.
