The nostalgia and aesthetics of the golden years of car racing will return to the streets of Torreón on September 10th in the afternoon, with the second edition of the Classic and Antique Car Parade and Exhibition, which will take place at Plaza Mayor, where more than 200 participants are expected to gather.
Exhibitors from Torreón, Durango, Monterrey, Saltillo, and other points in the Comarca Lagunera will be present.
This was announced on Monday morning on the fourth floor of the Torreón Presidency by Héctor Gaytán McGregor, Director of Paseo Colón and Plaza Mayor, who said that this event will be part of the city's 109th anniversary celebrations.
The deadline for registration is September 9th, it is free of charge and participants will receive a kit and diploma.
Gaytán McGregor was accompanied by Ruth Idala Ysais, head of Culture and Education, as well as Alejandro Cabral and Miguel Ángel Valdez, fifth regidor.
During the informational meeting, it was detailed that a parade will start at 14:00 from Torreón fair towards the main square.
They will take Independencia boulevard, then Calzada Colón and enter through Matamoros to be located in the exhibition that is planned to start at 16:00 hours.
The participating vehicles will have at least 30 years of age, currently there are 100 registered cars and the goal is to reach 200.
They recalled that the Sultana del Norte broke a Guinness record for organizing the event with the highest participation.
There will be ambiance, music and clothing from the era. The 5 best-characterized people with costumes from the 60's, 70's, and 80's will be awarded.
