ABILENE – McMurry University (NCAA, Division III) will open play Friday in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Tournament by taking on Southwestern University. The tournament will be played at Austin College in Sherman,
McMurry went 14-14 overall, 7-8 in conference play during the recently completed regular season.
Southwestern will enter post season play with a 21-5, 11-3 record.
Bailey Blanton, a true freshman and product of Troup High School, saw duty in 16 matches and totaled 42 kills during the regular season.
She also had 28 digs, 13 blocks and two service aces.
Blanton stands 5’-10” and plays the outside hitter position.
