The other Mexican driver for Force India, Alfonso Celis, will return to the Formula One tracks to participate in the first free practice sessions of the Italian Grand Prix.

The national driver will take the place of the German Nico Hülkenberg in one of the Force India cars and will share the circuit with his compatriots Sergio Pérez, from the same team, and Esteban Gutiérrez from Haas.

"I am very happy and excited to start practicing and what better way to do it in Monza, a circuit that is worth two; it is a great opportunity to race here, since when you walk on the track you realize the history and the importance of this place for motorsports", he said on the phone to La Afición.

The young Mexican driver, who usually competes in the Formula V8 3.5 Series, recognizes that it is a great responsibility to be a test driver for the team that is in fourth place in the constructors' championship of the top category.

"The team has done a great job, it cannot be highlighted enough, it is commendable, few teams achieve this, it has half the budget of other top teams, but it shows that it knows where to invest, and it is fourth; although there is still half of the season to go which is going to be nerve-racking, McLaren can bounce back, Williams is close and fighting with them is positive."

Celis has already raced in the first practice sessions in Bahrain, Russia and Austria, but he recognizes that in Italy he has the desire to demonstrate his quality and not just fulfill the team's plan.

"In the past practice sessions I was a little under the control of Force India, working towards their weekend and had to collect data, but I also have my own goals and I want to show my speed on the track," he said.

Although this Friday he will have the opportunity to push the car to its limits and show his development as a driver, he is aware that the experience of the rest of the grid makes it difficult to fight for top positions.

"It has been discussed and the program (of the practice session) is a bit to give me the opportunity to push a little harder and demonstrate my talent as a driver, although it is difficult to compete against drivers who are behind the wheel twice a month, that adds a higher level of complexity, but I am here, ready to give my best."
