The inaugural Bright Osayi Samuel Under 13 Football tournament is set to begin tomorrow across the three senatorial districts of Edo State.
The tournament, organised by the Edo State Football Association in honour of the Nigerian international playing in Turkey, will take place at different venues across the state.
Public Field Auchi will host teams from Edo North, Eguare Primary School Ekpoma will be the venue for teams in Edo Central, and the Crescent Sports Centre in Benin City will host the matches for Edo South teams.
According to the fixtures released by the organisers, Elite Stars FC and Shooting Arrow FC will kick off the tournament at 9 am in Benin City on August 13th. Following this, Edo Young Stars will face Shavik FA at 10 am, with Bright Wave FC taking on Dynamic Stars at 11 am.
The final match of the day will be between Freedom FC and Royal FA at 12 noon. Ahead of the event, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, Chairman of the Edo State Football Association, expressed readiness to deliver a well-organized tournament and asked for the cooperation of the participating teams.
He also thanked Bright Osayi Samuel for giving the kids in Edo State the opportunity to showcase their talents, stating that the tournament will serve as a platform for talent discovery.
