Scoring was 8-6-4-3-2-1 for the six places in each of the 18 races.

Nearly all the races in the 62nd annual two-day event were out to flags 500 feet from shore and back again.

"It was another awesome victory in the Island Tournament for our group," said Randy Townsend, the Harvey Cedar Beach Patrol chief. "Absolutely amazing opportunity both nights (Aug. 2 and 3), with all the (other) competitors. It's amazing to win one, let alone nine in a row. It's just next-level."

The previous Harvey Cedars LBI victories in the championship streak were 2015-19 and 2021-24. The tournament was not held in 2020 due to the pandemic.

"When I took over the job back in 2010, we were getting our teeth kicked in by 50 points at this event every year," Townsend said. "To be at this point is just something I never could have imagined."

Harvey Cedars won only one race on the second night but finished second in five races and placed third in two more.

"Since we started winning, the second night was always in our favor," Townsend said. "We were always stronger on the second night."
