SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WGEM) - It’s been 18 years since the Bombers made it to the Super Sectionals, now this year they had a chance to keep making history.
In Springfield Illinois Macomb took on Williamsville for the IHSA Class 2A Super Sectional. Whoever wins the game punches their ticket in for state.
It was a close game for all 4 quarters.
The Bombers held the lead for majority of the game, but it was in the last couple of minutes where their lead started to slip.
With 19 seconds left in the game, Macomb trailed by two points, but the Bombers could never regain their lead.
They fall to Williamsville in the Super Sectional 36-32 and finish with a 28-6 record.
Even though their season ended earlier than desired, the Bombers still had an incredible and historic year.
