MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - Kansas State forward Arthur Kaluma has been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week after helping the Wildcats to two victories last week, as announced by the conference on Monday.
Kaluma scored the game-winning 4-point play with 0:20 remaining in overtime against then No. 9 Baylor on Tuesday. He finished with his seventh career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. His performance helped K-State remain undefeated in overtime under head coach Jerome Tang.
He had yet another great performance in K-State’s come-from-behind victory over Oklahoma State on Saturday, totaling 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. He also surpassed the 1,000-career point mark in the first half.
Kaluma and the Wildcats, now 14-4 on the season and 4-1 in the Big 12, will be back in action on Wednesday night. They’ll take on No. 23 Iowa State at 8:00 p.m.
