Origin of the name 'Dragon Ball Daima'

According to Akira Toriyama, the term 'Daima' is an exclusive creation for this installment. In terms of Japanese kanji, it could be interpreted as 'Great demon/magic', which agrees with the leaked initial premise of 'Dragon Ball Magic': "Goku would be transformed into a child due to a demon".

Will 'Dragon Ball Daima' be part of the canon?

Since its announcement, 'Dragon Ball' fans have been eagerly waiting to know if the events of this new installment will be considered canonical. Although the situation is not yet completely clear, the involvement of the original creator in its production suggests that this new anime could be part of the series' canon.

Recent statements from Toriyama could support this theory: "Right now, I'm working on the new Dragon Ball series. The title is 'Dragon Ball Daima'... Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends become children. To solve the situation, they will venture into a new world. It is a great odyssey with lots of action in an unknown and mysterious world," he stated.

Although no one is willing to definitively confirm that 'Dragon Ball Daima' will be part of the canon, it is said that the series will take place at some point before the official end of 'Dragon Ball Z' and before the events of 'Dragon Ball Super'. Therefore, it does not seem to significantly alter the overall continuity of the series.
