Shannon Sharpe is gone, and Skip Bayless and “Undisputed” have been on hiatus from FS1 since he left reportedly, in part, because they can’t find someone to slide in across from the often-insufferable Bayless.
And there’s a chance, according to reports, that Harrisburg native and former Bishop McDevitt star LeSean McCoy could be the guy to fill Sharpe’s shoes. But as the reports have churned out this week that Bayless is itching to get back into the saddle and find a replacement, Bayless himself has named his “dream” co-star.
And there is heat behind it.
Bayless said his dream scenario would be for Charles Barkley to fill the seat.
Bayless and Barkley, who referred to Bayless as a “damn idiot” on air while talking about Sharpe’s buyout, are pretty, clearly not fans of one another.

“I would dive out of bed every morning out there in Los Angeles at two o’clock in the morning to get to work with Charles,” Bayless said on a recent episode of ‘The Skip Bayless Show.’ “Please, Charles, please come and please work with me, this ‘damn idiot.’ What a joy it would be to do battle every day with Charles Barkley live on television.”
Bayless wasn’t done challenging Barkley.
“I could semi-retire,” he said. “I could mail it in. I could, dare I say, actually have a life and forget about prepping so furiously hard. All I’d have to do is let Charles go first and listen to him make a fool out of himself. I wouldn’t even have to try. So please, please, please, Charles, come be this damn idiot’s debate partner. Please let me annihilate you on a daily basis. Let me make barbecue chicken out of you.”
So … wow.
Barkley has to respond to that, right?
He is almost certainly not going to work with him, but it will be fun to see how the big fella reacts to being called out by Bayless.
