Did you lose or have your driver's license recently stolen or is it already too deteriorated? The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) reminds you that you can request a duplicate of this document online.
Cabe indicar que the virtual modality only applies to class A licenses for Metropolitan Lima, while in other regions you can request the duplicate in person at any Regional Transport Directorate.
Mientras que, en el caso de las licencias B, estas se pedirán en la Municipalidad Provincial.
Process your duplicate driver's license in Lima
Remember that you can request your duplicate online only in Lima:
- The cost of the procedure is S/ 24.50.
- Go to https://licencias.mtc.gob.pe/#/index
- Select the "Duplicate" option, enter your DNI number, and accept the sworn declaration if you meet the requirements.
- Provide a phone number or email address.
The issuance of the license takes a maximum period of 48 hours from when you made your online request.
You can select your pickup location at: the MTC offices in Lince and Cercado de Lima or the MAC Lima Norte and MAC Lima Este centers.
Remember to print your certificate, as it is the proof you need to collect your license.
Process your duplicate driver's license in provinces
You can request your duplicate at any of the License Issuance Centers nationwide:
- The cost of the procedure is S/ 24.50. You can pay it at any Banco de la Nacion agency near your home or those located within the MAC Centers.
- Go to the License Issuance Center once the respective payment has been made.
- Present the requirements and request the duplicate of your license.
- You will need to fill out a form with your personal information and a sworn statement that you are not suspended or disqualified from driving.
- If the duplication is due to deterioration, you will have to submit the deteriorated document.
Requirements for processing a duplicate driver's license
- Not being suspended or having the driver's license withheld according to the National Sanctions Registry.
- Not having pending fines or sanctions to be paid.
- Not being deprived of the right to drive land vehicles.
- If your license does not have your blood type printed, you must present a blood type certificate that you can obtain at the Medical Centers Authorized by the MTC.
- If you have a foreigner card, Temporary Residence Permit, asylum or refuge, present a passport-sized photograph with a white background.
