The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced that the Line 2 of the Lima and Callao Metro was put to the test. In this demonstration, the President of Peru, Dina Boluarte, and some officials from the mentioned portfolio were present.
The head of the MTC, Paola Lazarte Castillo, revealed that stage 1A of the mentioned service was launched from the Santa Anita market station to the Evitamiento station, but they were only empty trips; that is, without the presence of people.

The official also indicated that, if this testing process is successfully completed, the corresponding service can be provided with passengers on board located in Lima and Callao in December 2023.
"These are the works that bring you quality of life and for which we tirelessly work from the Executive to provide you with the solutions you all need," said Minister Lazarte.

Initially, 5 trains will be tested on the mentioned stretch, each capable of carrying 1,200 passengers
For the first three months - from the opening of the service - IT WILL HAVE NO COST for the population, as informed by Minister Lazarte.
