The students received workshops on road culture and prevention of traffic accidents. The measure seeks to raise awareness among citizens about respecting traffic rules.

More than 14,000 pedestrians in Callao, including children and adults, were trained in education and road safety during the first semester of 2022.

These awareness campaigns were carried out in dozens of schools in Callao, where students received workshops on road culture and prevention of traffic accidents. As for adult pedestrians, they were offered knowledge of road safety through virtual talks.

These new trainings were part of the actions of the Callao Road Safety Preventive Program (Presevi) to raise awareness among citizens about respecting traffic rules and, above all, caring for the lives of children, young people, and adults.

In this sense, the 14,000 participant pedestrians received instructions to promote road safety in Callao. For example, with the help of mimes, pedestrians were guided in public roads, where they were taught to cross correctly and respect traffic rules on each avenue or street.

In addition, a series of activations were also carried out, in which children were taught to respect traffic lights. During these activations, the experts in charge of the trainings urged drivers to respect pedestrian crossings.

Likewise, as part of the information campaign for the change in speed limits in Callao, the trainers managed to have drivers and pedestrians sign letters of commitment to respect traffic rules.
