The Peruvian Soccer is in Mourning

The Peruvian soccer, but especially the streets of Callao, are in mourning. On Monday, September 18, the death of former player Arón Torres was confirmed, due to renal insufficiency. Torres played for Sport Boys, Deportivo Municipal, and Unión Comercio.

The news of Torres' death was announced by the team of the port city through social media. "We regret the sensitive death of our former player Arón Torres, who was part of 'El Primer Campeón' in the promotion of 2017 and the 2018 season. We send our sincere condolences to his entire family," they said through their "X" account.

DETECTION OF THE DISEASE

In September of last year, in an interview with Depor newspaper, Arón Torres revealed that he suffered from chronic renal insufficiency, a disease that was diagnosed when he was playing for Deportivo Municipal.

Torres also revealed that he went to the hospital after playing a reserve game with the Unión Comercio team.

"Two years ago, at Municipal, I was diagnosed with hypertension. I inherited it from my mother and I was treating it when I was at Chavelines. In 2022, at Comercio, I didn't continue taking my medications correctly. I didn't feel anything, but a couple of months ago, I played a reserve game, felt dizzy, and quickly went to the hospital and received this surprise," he said.

It is worth remembering that earlier this year Arón Torres was admitted to the ICU due to the illness. At that time, Muni asked its fans for financial support for the player.
