The American gymnast Simone Biles, four-time Olympic champion, spoke in an interview with Vogue magazine about the "abuse suffered" by doctor Larry Nassar and how she felt "broken" when the Tokyo Olympic Games were postponed because that meant another year with USA Gymnastics.
Biles commented that she realized Nassar had abused her after the support of her former teammate Maggie Nichols, who was also a victim of abuse.
Nichols was the protagonist of a recent Netflix documentary called "Athlete A," which detailed the sexual abuse scandal within the United States Olympic team.
It should be noted that the world champion of the USA team was the first to accuse USA Gymnastics of abuse in 2015. "When I read what Maggie said, it was a hard blow for me because I realized that she had suffered the same treatment," said Simone Biles.
