Porto separates 4 South Americans for going to a party

Porto will not let Argentine players Agustín Marchesín and Renzo Saravia, and Colombian players Mateus Uribe and Luis Díaz play this Sunday for having celebrated until 5 in the morning the birthday of one of their wives, who discovered them by posting videos of the celebration on social media.

Four Porto players sidelined for breaking club rules

All four players have been excluded from the call-up for this matchday, in which the "dragons" will face Boavista, for having violated the club rules, which state that players can party until 11:00 p.m.

All of them were unintentionally exposed by Cindy Álvarez García, Uribe's wife, who posted several videos on Instagram of their birthday celebration where the Porto members appeared.

The social media posts revealed that the four teammates continued the celebrations until 5:00 a.m., which led both the coach, Sérgio Conceição, and the club's board to be "relentless" in their decision, according to sources close to the case reported by the Portuguese sports press.

The punishment notably affects the composition of the starting eleven, as Marchesín has been a regular goalkeeper this season, while Uribe and Díaz are field regulars and could have been decisive against Boavista.

Saravia, who is still finding his place in the team, is also particularly affected by this incident.

Porto, currently second in the standings, five points behind the leader Benfica, will face Boavista on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. (local time and GMT).
