La montañista ecuatoriana Carla Pérez conquistó, sin oxígeno, el K2

La montañista ecuatoriana Carla Pérez consiguió este miércoles llegar a la cima del K2, también conocido como monte Godwin-Austen, en Pakistán. Lo hizo sin oxígeno y en compañía del ecuatoriano Esteban 'Topo' Mena, según reportó el montañista británico Adrian Ballinger, quien también formó parte del equipo.

Pérez, la primera mujer latinoamericana en coronar el monte Everest sin oxígeno suplementario, tuvo también la compañía de Palden Namgye y Pemba Gelje Sherpa, según se publicó en la cuenta de Instagram de Ballinger.

"¡Lo hicimos! Estoy en C4. No puedo creerlo. Estoy llorando mucho", fue el anuncio del británico.

La montañista tricolor había escrito el viernes anterior en su cuenta de Facebook: "Negociar con la altura especialmente si no usas oxígeno suplementario siempre es duro, pero los paisajes y la paz que se ven y se sienten allí son únicas".
