Tribute to Freddy Ternero

Freddy Ternero means a lot to Cienciano. That's why they couldn't find a better way to pay tribute to him than by naming the east stand of the 'Garcilaso de la Vega' stadium in Cusco after him.

The regional president of Cusco, Edwin Licona, confirmed that the stand will be named after Freddy Ternero. There's no doubt that his untimely passing was a hard blow for Cienciano.

As it is remembered, Freddy Ternero led Cienciano to glory by winning the Copa Sudamericana against River Plate in 2003 and the Recopa against Boca Juniors in 2004.

This afternoon, Freddy Ternero received his final farewell in Huachipa. Family, friends, and supporters bid farewell to the former coach. Edwin Oviedo, Luis Castañeda, César Ccahuantico, Percy Rojas, Santiago Acasiete, José Luis Carranza, Juan José Oré, Alessandro Morán, Julio García, among others, attended the service.
