The Chapultepec Sports Club will be the venue for the Padel Mexico Exhibition 2018, which will take place from November 30th to December 2nd at the Rafael Osuna Stadium.

With this date, our country joins France, Portugal, Belgium, England, Sweden and Argentina as part of the World Padel Tour circuit, which takes place mainly in Spain, a country that hosts 13 of the 15 tournaments that make up the calendar.

"It is a pride to represent Mexican Padel. This is the result of the massification of this sport, which already has 12 state associations that have helped a lot to spread it, in addition to the support we have found in Conade," said Omar Villavicencio, head of FemexPadel.

During the three days of this tournament, an increase of more than 7,000 fans is expected, who will have the opportunity to see pairs such as the Argentine Maxi Sánchez and Sanyo Guitérrez, in the men's category (No. 2 in the world ranking), and the Spanish twins María José and María del Pilar Sánchez (No. 1 in the ranking). Likewise, there will be the presence of players like Aranzazú Gallardo and Ignacio Mendiola, who - in their respective categories - make up the two best Padel pairs in Mexico.

On the other hand, Alfredo Castillo, head of the National Sports Commission, who was present at the announcement, referred to the work and dissemination that has been done in our country, for the diffusion and promotion of Padel, as well as the way in which the event has been organized.

"For me, it is very important to see how the FemexPadel has been working and how they have organized and coordinated so that Padel has a great diffusion and becomes more known in our country," said Alfredo Castillo.

AN ELITIST SPORT

Until a few years ago, despite being practiced by many people in Mexico, Padel was a sport only for a certain sector of the population. With the popularity it had in Argentina and Spain. In the last five years, this sport has had a greater opening thanks to the impulse it has received.

"Unlike a few years ago, we have been able to observe how children, young people or even adults are playing and have established Padel, to the point that they are already in teams, in tournaments, tours, helping them have an international projection," mentioned Castillo.
