América faces Santos Laguna tonight in the resumption of the Apertura 2023, a match where André Jardine will make some changes compared to his last starting 11 in the league.
As ESPN reported, the Águilas will start with Luis Malagon in goal for the blue and cream team against the warriors; in defense, Kevin Álvarez, Igor Lichnovsky, Ramón Juarez, and Luis Fuentes will start; in midfield, Jonathan dos Santos and Álvaro Fidalgo will start, while in the attacking zone, Leonardo Suárez will play in the place of the injured Diego Valdés. On the other hand, Jonathan Rodríguez will play on the left side, while they will have a striking partnership with Julián Quiñones and Henry Martín.
It is worth mentioning that Richard Sánchez, Sebastián Cáceres, and Brian Rodríguez, who had activity with their respective national teams in the CONMEBOL qualifiers, started on the bench, as part of the physical load management that the América coach will give them and with the intention of avoiding further injuries, as happened with Diego Valdés.
The América team comes into the match against Santos as the leaders of the tournament, and a victory will be a decisive step towards direct qualification to the playoffs, with four more rounds to play; meanwhile, Santos Laguna is playing one of their last cards in the tournament, currently occupying 13th place in the general table with 11 points.

Carlos Acevedo returns as goalkeeper for Santos in the match against América, after five months and eight days of absence in a Liga MX match due to an injury.
The Mexican goalkeeper will have his first match in the Apertura 2023 after recovering from an injury.
His last appearance with the Guerreros was in the quarterfinals of the Clausura 2023 against Rayados, a series that Santos lost.
