3D Printing
3D printing has come to stay and is increasingly present in different areas of our lives. In fact, we have recently learned how a Spanish startup has been able to build houses with a large 3D printer. The latest news we have learned about this exciting world is that a runner in the Boston Marathon will compete wearing 3D printed sandals. It will be engineer Chris Bellamy who will hit the streets of Boston to cover the 26.3-mile course with 3D printed sandals. According to him, these sandals are as comfortable as any other sports shoes.
Custom-made Footwear
Traditionally, footwear has been able to be custom-made for clients if they paid the price, well, this is something that could become common with the arrival of 3D printing.
The company in charge of printing the sandals is Wiiw, which will soon launch a complete range of this type of custom-made sandals for its clients. In fact, we will be able to download an app for iOS or Android, with which we can design our own custom-made sandals, which will send the exact measurements of our feet. From there, the printing will take care of the rest.
