Event of Cliff Diving Postponed
For security reasons, Altius, the company organizing the event that would showcase the top 12 cliff divers, suspended the event hours before it was set to begin.
The cause was that they couldn't control a water leak that they had since yesterday in the 8-meter deep and 12-meter diameter tank installed in Paseo de la Reforma.

"The event has been postponed until further notice. The organizers decided not to take the risk of holding the event due to failures in the membrane containing the water. Although the failures are not serious, it has been decided to avoid any contingency that could expose families, spectators, or athletes", says the statement delivered at 10 am.

ONE WEEK DELAY
Horacio de la Vega, director of Indeporte, announced that the Cliff Diving Series will take place on the following Sunday, March 18, at the same scheduled time.
"The high diving event on Reforma is postponed for next Sunday at the same time, the decision is for the safety of the divers and attendees as the thermosealing was not in optimal conditions... We will comment further later."
