In Spain, a drunk driver decided to take a reckless shortcut.

A few days ago we received the video that we see below. A man in Spain decided to take a shortcut through pedestrian stairs approximately 15 meters high in order to avoid the traffic caused by a festival. Now, the news we bring is that this reckless driver paid dearly for his mischief, as not only had his driver's license revoked but also has been sentenced to four months in prison.

The incident occurred on February 24 in the town of Arguineguin, in Gran Canaria, where the Carnival Parade was taking place. The 42-year-old man found himself in the middle of the festivities and decided to drive his Mercedes-Benz Class A down the street and onto the stairs in order to not wait.

In a state of drunkenness, the man encountered several obstacles on the sidewalk after descending the stairs, such as a streetlight and a series of parked cars, making it very difficult for him to get out.

Many passersby took the opportunity to record the scene with their smartphones, and even with the commotion generated, the police arrived and decided to arrest the man.

The owner of the Mercedes-Benz refused to take the breathalyzer test, which increased his sentence. His driver's license was suspended for eight months and he was sentenced to four months in prison, although since he has no previous convictions, the prison sentence will not be effective.
