Teenager seriously injured by flare during football match

A 17-year-old teenager was seriously injured in his hand by a flare during the league match between Girondins de Bordeaux and Olympique de Marseille on Sunday, reported French media.

According to the website Foot01, the young man, who was transported by an ambulance to the nearest hospital, has lost parts of his fingers due to the explosion of the device.

The incident occurred around the 70th minute of the match, which ended 1-1, in the south stand where the Ultramarines, the most radical fans of Girondins, are located.
