The relegated Clan Juvenil was minutes away from shocking Delfin
The relegated Clan Juvenil came close to causing an upset in the 19th round of the National Championship, playing a dramatic match against Delfin. Delfin saved a draw (3-3) in the 94th minute, and in the 95th minute had the opportunity to win if Jacob Murillo had converted a penalty kick.
Guillermo Sanguinetti's team, winner of the first stage, came very close to being defeated this Saturday at the General Ruminaui stadium, but striker Roberto Ordóñez prevented the bad moment with a goal in the 93rd minute, just as Clan was preparing to celebrate.
Despite earning a point on their visit to Sangolquí, Delfin remains in third place with 33 points, and it is already a fact that El Nacional (34) could upset both the team from Manabí and the leader Emelec in the remaining three rounds of the second stage of the tournament.
Juan Carlos Villacrés scored the opening goal in the 6th minute, giving Clan the lead. Jordan Sierra, in the 12th minute, with an elegant finish, equalized 1-1 for the mantense team. In injury time of the first half (46th minute), Marcos Cangá took advantage of a left-footed shot inside the area to put Delfin ahead.
