During the final minutes of Sport Boys' defeat against Cienciano in Callao
a rumor emerged that the Cusco team had failed to comply with the rule of having at least 4 players under 24 on the field. This was good news for the pink team after a bad afternoon at the Miguel Grau stadium.
However, this version was proven false when the match record was checked. The confusion arose during the broadcast when, at the 56th minute, 'El Papá' sent Carlos Caraza (31) onto the field to replace Sub 18 Rudy Palomino.

One of the commentators mentioned on the air that Sport Boys had the right to complain as the Sergio Ibarra team had committed an infraction with that substitution. But there was one detail. The Cusco team had been playing with 5 Under 24 players since the 17th minute. Christian García (36) was replaced by Héctor Gallardo (21) due to an injury.
Sport Boys also viewed this situation with more calmness. The administrator of the 'Misilera' expressed to Depor that indeed Cienciano had not violated any rules of the Second Division championship.
"We checked at that very moment and they did have 4 Under 24 players on the field," said Johann Vásquez. The leader, however, assured that his team will not give up in the quest for promotion to the First Division.
