Halterist Carolina Valencia denounces FMLP for excluding her from the Central American Championship

Mexican weightlifter Carolina Valencia has denounced the Mexican Weightlifting Federation (FMLP) for leaving her out of the Senior Central American Championship to be held in Guatemala in September of this year, despite earning her right to compete.

Through a letter addressed to Rosalio Antonio Alvarado del Ángel, president of FMLP, the athlete demands a response and a solution to her problem, arguing that she was the national champion in the under 48 kilograms category.

Despite this, she received a notification that she was removed from the national team, even though she had all the necessary documentation to join the training camp along with the rest of the team. Although she participated in the recent Pan American Championship, where she won two silver medals, she was notified that her spot would be taken by Andrea de la Herrán Martínez, who claims "she did not win the selection process nor has she won against me in any previous competitions" to deserve the spot.
